Get Target Coupons on Your Cell Phone

New Target coupons brought to your cell!

This is a new program brought to you by Target, you can now get coupons delivered straight to your cell phone!

Go HERE to sign up. You'll be asked for your cell phone number, submit, and then you should start to receive exclusive Target store coupons.

One of the best tips most people may not know about using coupons, is that you can "stack" coupons at most stores, Target included. "Stacking" coupons just means that you can combine a store coupon with a manufacturer's coupon to increase your savings! Now, this doesn't mean you can use two manufacturer's coupons for the same item, that's not allowed. But, you are allowed to use two coupons if one of the coupons comes directly from a store. Like Target for example, their store coupons usually have the Target "bulls eye" symbol on the face of the coupon and will say "Target Coupon" instead of "Manufacture Coupon"

To use the coupons on your phone, the cashier will just scan the bar code directly from your phone! Thus saving you the hassle of remembering where you put your coupons while you shopped. And again, these electronic Target coupons can be stacked with a manufacture coupon to maximize your savings!

FREE Eggs!!

EDIT: The giveaway is now over. They ended up giving an extra 20,000 away for the issues they had this morning, making the total number of coupons 50,000!! That's a lot of eggs people..

UPDATE: The website wasn't working this morning due to technical difficulties. I'm positive they underestimated the number of people who love eggs, or just free eggs. Here's what they had to say on their facebook page: "Incredible Edible Egg Fans, we assure you the coupon offer is genuine and we’re working with our tech folks on a solution to make good on the offer. We appreciate the time you’ve spent with us this morning and we will continue sharing updates.". And yes, there are still coupons available, so hurry on over to get your free eggs now!

I'm sorry I'm so late in posting this.. I just started this blog yesterday for goodness sakes! Who doesn't love eggs?! Well, today, you're in luck, if you become a fan of the Incredible Edible Egg on Facebook you’ll be able to snag some free eggs of your choice! (up to $1.50)

The first 30,000 entrants will get FREE Eggs!! At 9AM Click the tab that says “Free Eggs” on their Facebook page! Here’s what was posted on their Facebook page:
Hey egg fans! 30,000 coupons will be available for download via the “Free Eggs” tab this Friday, 2/5. The “buy-one get-one free” coupon is good for any brand of eggs up to $1.50 at the grocery store in your hometown. The coupon goes live at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT!

General Mills Reduces Sugar in Their Cereals

Did you know that ready-to-eat cereal eaters consume less fat, less cholesterol and more fiber than non-cereal eaters? Cereals also deliver important vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients, making cereal a top source of key nutrients in children’s diets.

Cereal Statistics:
Ready-to-eat cereals, including presweetened cereals, account for only 5% of sugar in children’s diets. Ready-to-eat cereal is also the No. 1 source of whole grains in a child’s diet today.

More frequent cereal eaters tend to have healthier body weights and lower Body Mass Index measures. Studies also demonstrate the benefits of eating breakfast. A 1998 study showed that children who eat breakfast tend to perform better at school. Compared to children who skip breakfast, children who eat breakfast score higher on tests, are less likely to miss class or be tardy, have fewer reported discipline problems, and make fewer trips to the office.

This week General Mills announced a commitment to further reduce sugar in cereals advertised to kids aged 12 and under to single digit grams of sugar per serving. The company has already been reducing sugar in cereals while increasing key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain. For more information about kids and cereals, please visit Cereal Health and Wellness. MyBlogSpark recently sent me a few coupons to try out the new reduced sugar cereals from General Mills. I can honestly say this, I could not tell one bit of difference. It is the same great tasting cereal it has always been!

Right now if you visit HERE you will find a $1 off coupon for one of four General Mills cereals.

Recipe Thursday: Orange Lemon Chicken Wraps

Every Thursday, I plan on posting a different recipe for you to try on your own. Please let me know if there is a recipe or a food feature that you would like to see.

Orange Lemon Chicken Wraps

Ingredients:
4 chicken breasts
6 slices of bacon
1 cup brown sugar
fresh parsley
tortillas
orange and lemon zest
lettuce (or spinach)
1 potato (optional)
1 carrot (optional)
1 small red onion (optional)
Marinade chicken breasts in vegetable oil, brown sugar, and the zest of the orange and lemon. Set aside.

Chop the lettuce or spinach, shred the carrots, and chop the onion. Set aside.

Cook the bacon, either in the oven or microwave. When you are done, remove the bacon and place on a paper towel. Set aside.
Preheat your grill or stove top pan to med-hi. Grill chicken.

Set your chicken in the oven, covered, and drop the temp. down to 150 to keep them warm. Place your tortillas in the oven, foiled as well.

OPTIONAL:
Cube/slice/dice your potato, I prefer small cubes for a quicker cook time and even doneness. Preheat a small fry pan to medium and fill with a shallow amount of oil (a deep fryer would be ideal). Cook until brown, drain, set aside.

Remove your chicken and cube, adding salad mix to tortillas. Toss with dressing, I prefer wasabi mayo (1/4 cup mayo and one teaspoon of wasabi powder), sprinkle chicken, crumble bacon, and add potatoes. Garnish with parsley, wrap, and eat!

My Very First Post as OKC Savings

Hello and Welcome!
This is a big day for me, I finally decided to set up a blog dedicated to all the ways you can save money. For the last six months or so, I started finding all the ways I could save money here and there to stretch our budget. I can honestly say, I never imagined all the ways I could be saving my hard earned dollars! Now, don't get me wrong, I am still very much a beginner, I don't go to the grocery store, fill up an entire shopping cart and leave only having spent $2, or even better, having the store pay me to take all their food. But, my family and I do very well with a budget of only about $40-50 a month on food for 3 people. My goal though is to become one of those people who can somehow, have it all on a very small budget.

My history with budgeting:
I knew about coupons, and I have used them before, but I had no idea how much you could actually save. I had always thought coupons were just a way for companies to get you to buy their brand name item and only save around .30 cents, what a waste of time and energy to clip that stupid coupon, it just didn't seem worth it. But, as I found out, there are so many other things that come into factor when it comes to savvy shopping. It's knowing when to shop, how to budget, where to find the coupons and deals, and knowing how to decipher the fine print.

So, as for my introduction to this blog, I can't promise that I'll save your life, I'm just doing this so I don't have to keep fowarding on the same "deal" e-mails I've found to people who might just be as interested in them as I am. This just makes it a little more simple for me..

Thank you all for reading and hopefully I won't disappoint!
